Report reflects that steps have been taken by the police authorities for tracing out the accused persons. Records also reflect that anticipatory bail of the petitioner was rejected by the learned sessions court. The investigation of the case is still in progress. Communications have been made to the respective departments for ascertaining the truth attached in respect of the accusations.

Learned Additional Government Pleader states that the ration cards have been deactivated.

Mr. Majumder, learned DSGI, appears on behalf of the Union of India.

Having considered that steps are being taken by the investigating agency, I am of the view that further pendency of the writ petition before this Court is unwarranted as the police authorities are trying to take the investigation to its logical conclusion. Accordingly, WPA 19143 of 2024 is disposed.

State is directed to hand over a copy of the report to the petitioner without the enclosures or the annexures.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
