Mr. Indranil Haldar ...for the Petitioner Mr. Pathik Bandhu Banerjee ...for CESC 25-08-2025 AKG Ct. 15 The petitioner has approached this Court seeking an electricity connection at his premises situated at 33/A, Nafar Chandra Das Road, Kolkata - 700034, alleging inaction on the part of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC).

The CESC submits that the petitioner has already made two applications in his name.

In view of the above, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by keeping this writ petition pending. Accordingly, CESC is directed to conduct an inspection of the petitioner's premises within a period of two weeks from date. Upon completion of such inspection, CESC shall process the petitioner's application within a further period of two weeks, strictly in accordance with law.

It is clarified that, in the event the petitioner is found entitled to an electricity connection, the same shall be provided to him, subject to due compliance with all

requisite formalities.

Accordingly, WPA 18367 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
