Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that a case being Burdwan Police Station case no.

643/25 dated 09.06.2025 was registered for investigation. Petitioner submits that the accused persons are presently threatening with hired anti-socials for withdrawal of the case. To that effect petitioner informed the Superintendent of Police as well as the local police authorities.

The police authorities also drew up proceedings under Section 126/135 of the BNSS.

Petitioner happens to be a witness of Burdwan Police Station case no. 643/25, as such petitioner is entitled to take out an application for such protection before the jurisdictional Court in seisin of the criminal case. If such an application is filed, the learned Magistrate will call for a threat perception report and pass

necessary directions under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

So far as the police authorities are concerned they would ensure that there is no violation of law and order since a criminal case is already investigated. With the aforesaid observations WPA 18303 of 2025 is disposed of.

Report so submitted by the State be kept with the record.

Copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
