The petitioners are in custody for about five months and pray for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have been falsely implicated. Their further detention is not required.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

The petitioners were allegedly trying to lift cattle in their truck. On being intercepted by the police, they tried to flee. When the driver of the police vehicle tried to stop them, he was run over. The petitioners have been identified in T.I. Parade. Injured witnesses have implicated the petitioners. The petitioners are in custody for more than five months. Offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Considering the nature and gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioners therein, their prayer is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
