Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

The petitioners allege that WBSEDCL did not take steps for shifting the meters though the application was made in the year 2021 and payment as per the quotation was also made.

Learned advocate appearing on behalf of WBSEDCL submits, upon instructions, that the meters were shifted to the newly constructed meter room on 24th December, 2021. The petitioner presently seeks shifting of the existing infrastructure for which no application has been made.

It has been submitted that if application is made for shifting the entire infrastructure, then steps will be taken by the authority accordingly.

Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that the meters are hanging in a

very precarious condition and there is chance of electrocution in the rainy season.

Upon hearing of both the parties, the instant writ petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioners to file fresh application clearly disclosing their intention to shift the entire infrastructure leading to their meters.

On receipt of such application, WBSEDCL shall cause a spot inspection and take steps to deal with the same in accordance with law, at the earliest but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the application.

The formalities which are required to be complied with by the petitioners shall be intimated. Shifting shall be done on compliance of all formalities. 9.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
