Mr. Manas Kumar Das ... for the petitioner Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee Mr. Avishek Prasad, Advocates ... for the State Affidavit-of-Service filed by the petitioner is taken on record. The grievance raised by the petitioner in this public interest petition is that there is a Scheme for monthly pension to old aged persons, widows and physically handicapped persons implemented by the Government of India, Department of Rural Development and Social Welfare.

The submission of learned counsel for the petitioner is that there are more than 100 persons in Gram Panchayat under the Kandi Development Block, District - Murshidabad, who are eligible, falling below the poverty line, but they have not been extended the benefit under the Scheme.

Learned counsel for the State fairly submits that if the petitioner files an appropriate detailed representation before the respondent no. 6, then the grievance will be duly looked into.

WPA (P) 398 of 2022 Hence, we dispose of the present petition granting liberty to the petitioner to file a detailed representation containing the particulars of the eligible persons who have been deprived the benefit, before the respondent no.

6. On receipt of such representation, the respondent no. 6 will duly consider the grievance raised therein and take appropriate decision in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of representation.
