The petitioner is an Assistant Professor at Asutosh College, Kolkata of the subject computer science; he has completed his Ph.D Degree in the relevant subject. The petitioner is claiming additional increment for such enhancement of his qualification.
The Principal of the said college under his letter dated December 23, 2024 has forwarded the particulars necessary to accord sanction of such increments in favour of the petitioner to the Director of Public Instruction, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no. 2 herein.
The petitioner is complaining that the said letter has failed to attract the attention of the respondent no. 2 till date. The proposal of the said increment of the petitioner is pending since 2024, the respondent no. 2 is directed to consider the said proposal in accordance with law and in the event it is found that the petitioner is entitled to such increment, the said respondent shall take forward steps for sanction of it as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order. Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
W.P.A. 18523 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
