This is an application under Section 482 read with Section 401 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 filed by the petitioners for quashing of proceedings in connection with G.R. No.2285 of 2014 under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 pending in the court of the learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th Court, Serampore, District-Hooghly arising out of Rishra Police Station Case No.152 of 2014 dated 15th November, 2014.

The matter was taken up by the Coordinate Bench of this Court on August 7, 2015 which was extended from time to time till 12.9.2019 for a period of four weeks after vacation.

The petitioners have made no effort to take steps to proceed with the matter further.

The matter is pending for disposal since 2019 and is running in the Warning List since 21.2.2025.

In view of the above facts and circumstances and considering the long pendency of the matter, this court finds no reason to keep the matter pending. Accordingly, the matter stands dismissed for default.

In view of the disposal of the revisional application, the connected CRAN application stands disposed of.

Let a copy of this order be sent to the learned trial court for necessary information.
