Ananya Nandi (Mallick) Ms. Subangi Bhattacharya ....for the petitioners After the entire list was called out, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner mentions this matter citing grave urgency. Considering the prayer of the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner and also that no caveat has been lodged in this matter, this matter is taken up for hearing.

This application under Article of the Constitution of India is at the instance of the father of a minor son praying for a direction upon the learned District Judge, Hooghly to dispose of the Act-VIII Case No.31 of 2020 expeditiously.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the said proceeding is pending from the year 2020.

In view of the order sought and proposed to be passed this Court feels that there is no necessity to direct issuance of any notice upon the opposite parties. However, the learned advocate for the petitioner shall be obliged to forward a copy of this application along with this order upon the opposite parties or his learned

advocates representing the opposite parties before the learned District Judge.

From the order sheets appended to this application this Court finds that August 2, 2024 was fixed for hearing of the Act-VIII Case No.31 of 2020. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that September 20, 2025 has been fixed for hearing of the ActVIII Case No.31 of 2020. In the light of the submission made by the learned advocate for the petitioner, CO 2723 of 2024 stands disposed of by requesting the learned District Judge, Hooghly to make an endeavour to dispose of the Act-VIII Case No.31 of 2020 as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
