Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be also kept with the record. A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.

Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of informing the Officer-in-Charge, Bolpur Police Station along with superior officer of police in respect of torture being inflicted upon the petitioner, no steps have been taken by the police authorities.

State has submitted a report which reflects that Bolpur P.S. Case No. 368 of 2025 dated 16.08.2025 has been registered for investigation on the written complaint which was received by the concerned police station.

In view of the police authorities having taken steps pursuant to receipt of the complaint, further pendency of the writ petition is unwarranted.

Police authorities are directed to take effective steps and also take the investigation of the case so registered to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 18626 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
