The petitioner seeks his promotion from the post of Junior Assistant-cum-Typist to the post of Senior Assistant at Jadavpur University.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that though he had participated in the selection process for promotion, the result was not communicated to him. The selection was held on December 20, 2022. The affidavit filed by the university discloses that the promotion was given on the basis of meritcum-seniority principle, but the petitioner was not successful. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner further contends that similar noncommunication of results occurred in preceding instances when he participated in selection process for promotion.

The learned advocate appearing for the

university has made over the documents pertaining to the selection process held on March 22, 2017, November 22, 2017 and December 20, 2017 to this Court.

It appears that the petitioner faced unsuccessful outcomes in these earlier selection processes as well.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that there exists a deliberate pattern of assigning low marks during the interviews leading to his non-selection. However, it remains beyond the purview of this Court's writ jurisdiction to ascertain the petitioner's performance during the interview process.

Accordingly, WPA 18573 of is dismissed.
