1. Affidavit of service is taken on record. Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondent Nos.5 to 7.

2. The writ petition is disposed of directing the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company to grant connection to the petitioner, upon compliance of all formalities. Such connection will be granted in spite of pendency of the civil suit. The order of injunction which was used as an excuse for not granting connection, does not in any way restrain the distribution company from granting such connection.

3. Needless to mention, the connection shall be subject to the final result of the civil suit. The petitioner cannot claim any equity in respect of the connection. The grant of connection shall not be a declaration of any right of the petitioner, except that an occupier is entitled to electricity.

4. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date communication of the order.

5. All the parties shall act on the basis of the server copy of the order.
