Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be also kept with the record. Petitioner approached this Court thereby praying that as no steps have been taken by the investigating authorities to bring the respondent no.5 who has been accused in interstate scam. The main grievance of the petitioner is that on 17 occasions there were directions by the learned ACJM, Islampur, Uttar Dinajpur and in spite of the same, it has been found that the respondent no.5 was subsequently released on bail after he was shifted from one State and arrested in connection with a case in another State. It is only very lately the respondent no.5 has been arrested.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the other private respondents are also equally responsible, but the police authorities are not trying to trace out them.

Be that as it may, the main prayer of the petitioner before this Court is for taking steps against the private respondent no.5 herein.

State has submitted a report which reflects that on 14.08.2025, the investigating officer arrested the respondent no.5 and he has been granted police remand. The investigating officer has already sent information to all the nodal officers of all banks as well as taken steps for ensuring debit freeze of the accounts.

Having considered that the private respondent no.5 is involved in criminal cases at Haryana, New Delhi, Sikkim as also West Bengal, police authorities would take effective steps for unearthing the truth in respect of the accusations of the petitioner. So far as the other accused persons are concerned, the police authorities would exercise their powers and if warranted, would pray for harsher process of law from the learned Magistrate for tracing out the rest of the accused persons.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 18658 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
