1. The present writ petition has been preferred alleging non-payment of contractual dues by the respondent authorities-Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.

2. It is the case of the petitioners that the respondent corporation issued work order dated 7.6.2021 in favour of the petitioners and they have duly executed the assigned work within the stipulated period.

Thereafter the executive engineer PWD by his memo no. 1322/PWD/BMC dated 23.11.2022 issued completion certificate in favour of the petitioners stating that the petitioners have completed the work within the stipulated period in accordance with the contractual terms under Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite such completion and issuance of the

completion certificate, the respondent corporation has failed to release the admitted dues, thereby causing undue hardships and financial prejudice to the petitioners.

4. Aggrieved by such inaction, the petitioners had submitted a representation dated 19.7.2024 seeking expeditious redressal and release of the outstanding amount.

5. Learned counsel for the respondent corporation submits that the respondent authorities are ready and willing to decide the petitioners'

representation dated 19.7.2024 within a time bound manner.

6. In view of the above submission, this court directs the respondent corporation to decide the petitioners'

representation dated 19.7.2024 within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners by way of a speaking order.

7. With the above observation, present writ petition is disposed of.
