The petitioner claims that the private respondents have dispossessed her from her property and reference is made to certain observations of the Executive Magistrate, Chanchal.

This Court is of the view that the remedy of the petitioner is before an appropriate Civil Court. The police have no role to play in either dispossessing the petitioner or restoring possession to her.

In those circumstances, Harishchandrapur Police Station shall maintain a strict vigil over the property and ensure that there is no breach of peace in the locale.

The petitioner may approach the Civil Court for grievances against the private respondents.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

The report of the Inspector-in-charge, Harishchandrapur Police Station dated 29th August, 2022 addressed to the State Advocate is taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.
