Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that on 08.05.2023 His Lordship the Hon'ble Justice Rajasekhar Mantha had passed an order directing the police that "In the event of any further complaint of any threat or intimidation against the petitioner, the Dum Dum Police Station may consider posting a constable at the said residence at the cost of the petitioner", but till date no constable is posted at her residence. Petitioner also insists posting of a lady constable and submits that the cost will be borne by the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing for the private respondents is present.

Learned counsel appearing for the State files a report and submits that if the petitioner makes a

representation before the competent police authority/Inspector of Police, O.C., Dum Dum Police Station, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, Kolkata for deputing a lady constable at the residence of the petitioner at her own cost for the safety and security of the petitioner, a lady constable will be immediately deputed at the residence of the petitioner.

Let the report filed by the State be kept with the record.

Heard learned counsels for the parties at length. As submitted by the respondent authorities, the petitioner shall make a representation before the competent police authority/ Inspector of Police, O.C., Dum Dum Police Station, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, Kolkata and on receipt of the same the police authority immediately deputes a lady constable at her residence for the safety and security of the petitioner and her daughter and the cost assessed be borne by the petitioner.

The Writ Petition being WPA 19369 of 2024 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
