It appears that on two earlier occasions, the petitioners approached this Court seeking resolution of disputes relating to the operation of their respective auto rickshaws on the route from Budge Budge Railway Station to Birlapur via Kalipur. However, this Court is of the view that those proceedings are not directly relevant to the present grievance of the petitioners.

The essential grievance raised by the petitioners in this writ petition is that due to an omission in the permit concerning the route and its length, they have been unable to ply their vehicles from Budge Budge Railway Station to Birlapur. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that a representation was made before the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas, on 22nd July 2025, seeking redressal of the grievance.

Despite receipt of the representation, no action has been taken by the authority.

There is no justification for keeping the present writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition being WPA 18699 of 2025 is disposed of, with a direction to the Regional Transport Authority, South 24 Parganas, to consider the representation appearing at page 57 of the writ petition within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order, in accordance with law.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
