The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023 and has been declared elected. He intends to participate in the first meeting of the Gram Panchayat scheduled tomorrow (10/08/2023).

The petitioner apprehends that he may not be permitted to participate in the first meeting and he submits that there is chance of violence in the said meeting.

It has been submitted that false and frivolous criminal proceedings have been initiated against the petitioner and the opposition members will try heart

and soul not to permit the petitioner to participate in the first meeting.

The prescribed authority and the Block Development Officer, Manickchak Development Block has issued the notice of meeting.

The prescribed authority and the Block Development Officer along with Inspector-in-Charge, Manickchak are directed to ensure that there is no obstruction to the petitioner in participating in the first meeting and the meeting is conducted peacefully. Efforts shall be taken to maintain peace at the time of the meeting in and around the gram panchayat office. Since the writ petition is disposed of without calling for any affidavit, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
