This is an application under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 filed by the petitioners for quashing of the proceedings being, G.R. Case No.1448 of 2015 pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sealdah, South 24 Parganas arising out of Beniapukur Police Station Case No.217 of 2015 dated 7th May, 2015 under Sections 420/ 406/ 506/ 120B/ 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The matter was first dealt with by the Coordinate Bench of this Hon'ble Court on July 27, 2015 when an interim order was granted for a period of eight weeks, which was subsequently extended on September 24, 2015 for a period of four weeks. After that on 23rd December, 2015, such interim order was further extended for a period of eight weeks and since thereafter, no further order of extension was passed and the petitioners filed an application for extension on 17th February, 2016 but, did not move the application. Today, also none appears on behalf of the petitioners and the revisional application is pending since 2015 and is running in the Warning List since February 21, 2025.

Considering the long pendency of the matter and the interim order is not subsisting, this Court finds no reason to keep the matter pending any further.

Accordingly, criminal revisional application being, C.R.R. 2434 of 2015 stands dismissed for default.

Let a copy of this order be sent to the Trial Court below by the Department forthwith.
