(Through Video Conference) Mr. Srikanta Dutta, Ms. Rituparna Sarkar ..for the Petitioner Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee ..for the State This petition was filed in the year 2016 when allegedly one of the Trade Unions had called for a countrywide Bandh on 2nd of September, 2016.

In that background the petitioner had come up to this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to cancel the registration of the political party calling for such a Bandh and also seeking the compensation from the said political party. Almost five years had passed after filing of the said petition. It is also noticed that the petition is not supported by any document and is bereft of the necessary particular.

In these circumstances, we are of the opinion that no purpose will be served in keeping the petition pending.

Hence, we dismiss the petition. However, with liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court again as
