Petitioner No. 1 served as a primary school teacher, while Petitioner No. 2 was employed as casual Group-D staff. It is undisputed that both petitioners were dismissed from their positions following disciplinary proceedings initiated against them. The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have not been paid their dues by the Municipality following their dismissal.

The learned advocate for the Municipality submits that, in compliance with an order dated March 31, 2022, passed in WPA 14048 of 2021 (Prasun Majumdar & Anr. vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.), the Chairman of the Municipality issued an order on June 28, 2022, directing the release of all unpaid dues to the petitioners.

He further submits that if no payment has been made to the petitioners in accordance with the aforementioned order, the dues will be paid shortly.

In light of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction for the Municipality to release the unpaid dues, if any, to the petitioners within two weeks from the date of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 19181 of 2022 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
