The petitioners are anxious regarding the period of detention and the trial not progressing.

Learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the next date has been fixed on 11th January, 2022 for consideration of charge.

Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned advocate, appears on behalf of the State.

In view of the prayers advanced by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners, I direct the learned special court to overcome the stage of consideration of charge on the next date so fixed or within a month thereafter. The learned special court would fix date/schedule for recording of evidence at least once in every three months and take the trial to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be

granted to either of the parties and a date/schedule should be fixed only after the public prosecutor conducting the case assures the learned special court regarding the availability of the witnesses. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 2484 of 2021 is disposed of.
