This is a joint application filed by the parties praying for disposal of the instant revision recording settlement of dispute between the parties.

The joint application is taken up for hearing in presence of the Learned Advocates for the petitioners, private opposite party and the Learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge. GR Case No. 142/2020 arising out of Bangaon Police Station Case No. 43/2020 was initiated on the basis of a written information made by the opposite party no. 2 on 22nd January, 2022 in the jurisdictional Police Station complaining of commission of offence under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

It is submitted by both the parties that the petitioner no. 1 and the opposite party no. 2 are at present mutually divorced by a decree of the competent Court. The parties do not want to proceed with the instant revision anymore as the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled. Therefore, both of them prays for quashment of all further proceeding in GR Case No. 142/2020. It is submitted by the Learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge that the aforesaid

criminal case was initiated as a result of matrimonial dispute having no wider ramification involving the interest of the State. Therefore, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure this Court can record settlement of the parties and pass necessary order with regard to quashment of the criminal case. In view of such circumstances, GR Case No. 142/2020 be quashed.

Learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bangaon is directed to drop the aforementioned GR Case in view of the order passed by this Court on receipt of the copy of this order.
