It is submitted that his name does not transpire in the First Information Report. We have considered materials on record. Statement of the victim implicates the petitioner as one of the persons who was instrumental in throwing acid on her. She ultimately succumbed to her injuries. In view of the prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged crime and as the petitioner does not stand on the same footing with co-accused Jahangir Sk., who has been granted bail, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is thus rejected.
