From the report of the Block Development Officer, Beldanga-II Development Block dated 20th February, 2024, it appears that the scheduled caste certificate relying upon which the elected candidate contested the Panchayat General Election 2023 is under scrutiny before the Sub-Divisional Officer.

The concerned Sub-Divisional Officer is directed to verify the genuineness of the certificate relied upon by the elected candidate and if it appears that the certificate is not a genuine one, then necessary remedial steps shall be taken.

The Sub-Divisional Officer is directed to conclude the process of enquiry at the earliest, but positively within a period of thirty days from the date of communication of this order.

The Sub-Divisional Officer shall communicate the decision to the Block Development Officer for taking necessary measures.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
