1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. Petitioner contends no narcotics was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor contends petitioner had absconded for over 10 years.

4. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had absconded for more than a decade. In the event he is released on bail there is possibility of abscondence and trial shall be rendered nugatory.

5. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, at this stage.

6. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

7. We direct the Trial Court to expedite the trial and bring the same to its logical conclusion at the earliest without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. (Gaurang Kanth, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.) Signed By :
