The petitioner alleges that the meter from which she enjoys electric connection was shifted by CESC Limited without notice to her. She further alleges that the meter is kept under lock and key by the co-owners of the subject premises and that the meter is not accessible to the petitioner. She apprehends that the co-owners may be using electricity connection from her meter without her notice and consent, contrary to the provisions of law.

From the documents annexed to the writ petition and upon hearing the submission made on behalf of the parties, it appears that the petitioner is yet to raise a formal grievance before the licensee.

It has been submitted on behalf of CESC Limited that the consumer in whose name the electricity meter stands and from which the petitioner enjoys electricity has expired.

It will be open for the petitioner to take steps for changing the name of the consumer in accordance with

law.

It will also be open for the petitioner to raise appropriate grievance before the concerned authority highlighting the illegalities as submitted in court today. 6.

If any such application is raised, the same shall be considered and disposed of by the concerned authority in accordance with law at the earliest. 7.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
