1. As recorded in our order dated September 3, 2024, the petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected on November 20, 2023. We have seen the depositions of the vital witnesses including the victim girl and an eye-witness. Those witnesses squarely implicate this petitioner.
2. In view of the incriminating material against the petitioner, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail. The charge is under Section 6 of the POCSO Act which, if proved, will attract a minimum imprisonment of 20 years.
3. CRM (DB) 2617 of 2024 is dismissed.

4. However, since the petitioner is in custody for more than 2 years, we direct the learned Trial Judge to expedite the trial to the fullest extent possible and complete the same as soon as possible but positively within 8 months from the next date fixed for recording of evidence.
5. We make it clear that if the trial is not concluded within the time period indicated above, the petitioner will be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.
6. Let this order be communicated by the parties to the learned Trial Court.
