The letter issued by the Rent Controller, Kolkata on 14th February, 2017 refusing to accept rent from the petitioner, is assailed in the writ petition. The matter pertains to the West Bengal Premises Tenancy Act, 1997 which is a specified Act under Section 2(r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997, hereinafter referred to as Act of 1997. The order impugned is amenable to appeal before the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal under Section 6 of the Act of 1997.

In view of the above, the writ petition being WPA 20378 of 2017 is dismissed as not maintainable. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the appropriate forum for redressal of his grievance, in accordance with law.

There shall be no order as to costs.
