Ashim Kumar Ghosh @ Ashim Ghosh ... petitioner Mr. Navanil De Mr. Srinjan Ghosh ... for the petitioner Mr. Bitasok Banerjee Ms. Srilekha Chattopadhyay ... for the State Report filed by the State is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner got married to the victim deceased on 22.01.2024. On 18.03.2024, he went abroad. The victim committed suicide on 10.07.2024 at her matrimonial home. The petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence. Learned counsel for the State strongly opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits that torture was meted out by the husband and the in-laws. Reliance is placed on the post-mortem report and the statements of the relatives and neighbours of the accused. More importantly, a proclamation has already been issued against the present petitioner.

Considering the incriminating materials available in the case diary and the fact that a proclamation has already been

issued against the present petitioner, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
