Learned counsel appearing for the West Bengal Board of Primary Education submits a notification dated 29.08.2025.

Perused the notification.

This Court observe that the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous in view of the notification dated 29th August, 2025 issued by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. The petitioners, who are in-service untrained primary school teachers, had approached this Court seeking permission to apply

for admission to the Two-Year D.El.Ed course, notwithstanding that they either possessed only the Madhyamik or equivalent qualification or had secured less than fifty percent marks in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. This issue had earlier been considered and decided by this Court in WPA No. 13989 of 2025 (Partha Das & Ors. vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.), wherein similar relief was granted to similarly placed teachers.

In compliance with the order passed in the said writ petition, the Board has now issued a notification extending the same benefits to all in-service untrained teachers of Malda and North 24 Parganas districts who were recruited pursuant to the 2009 recruitment process and appointed under various orders of this Court. The said notification expressly allows such teachers to apply for admission to the Two-Year D.El.Ed Course for the 2025-2027 session.

In light of the said notification, the reliefs claimed by the petitioners in the present writ petition stand satisfied, since the notification ensures that the benefits of the earlier order are also made applicable to them. Consequently, no further adjudication of the present matter is necessary.

Writ petition is, thus, disposed of, however, there shall be no order as to costs.
