1. Affidavit-of-service filed today be kept on record. Despite service, none appears for the private respondent/landlord.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner is not getting electricity supply despite having complied with formalities, due to resistance by the respondent no.4/landlord.

3. Such stand is corroborated by learned counsel for the CESC Limited.

4. As such, WPA No. 18973 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to give electricity connection to the petitioner within a fortnight from date. In the event any resistance is put up by the respondent no.4/landlord and/or his men and agents in the CESC Limited doing so, it will be open to the

CESC personnel to approach respondent no.3, that is, the Officer-in-Charge, Bantra Police Station for adequate police assistance which will be granted by the respondent no.3, by acting on a server copy of this order, at the cost of the petitioner.

5. If need be, the Police will be at liberty to remove any obstacle/hindrance/padlock for facilitating the access of the CESC Limited to the existing meter board position. The CESC Limited, it is clarified, shall give a loop metered connection from the existing meter board position at the premises to the petitioner.

6. There will be no order as to costs.

7. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
