1. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners the case is pending for last three years and examination of witnesses have not commenced.

2. Under such circumstances, they pray for expeditious disposal of the case.

3. Mr. Arijit Ganguly, who ordinarily appears for the State, is requested to appear in the instant case for the State. Learned Public Prosecutor is directed to regularize his appointment.

4. Petitioners have a fundamental right to speedy trial under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. Criminal case is pending against them for last three years and examination of witnesses have not commenced.

5. Accordingly, I direct the trial Court to take prompt steps for examination of witnesses by fixing schedules at short intervals

and conclude the trial at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

6. With these observations, CRR 3281 of 2024 is disposed of. (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
