The writ petitioner claims that her husband superannuated from service of the erstwhile Union Bank of India which is known as PNB from 8th August, 2000. He received pension till he died on 31.03.2007. The petitioner applied to the bank for family pension in place of her deceased husband which is being denied.

Counsel for the bank submits that the petitioner is the second wife of the deceased employee. The family pension is being paid to the first wife.

In view of the above, this Court is of the view that the grievance of the petitioner ought to be

settled before a civil court. The bank shall furnish to the petitioner particulars of all family pension being paid on account of the deceased Sukumar Roy within a period of fifteen days from date.

The petitioner may take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

The writ petition is disposed of.

6.

There will be no order as to costs.
