None appears on behalf of the State respondents in spite of service.

The husband of the petitioner was an employee of Raiganj Municipality who died-in-harness. The petitioner being the widow seeks payment of the terminal benefits of her deceased husband.

Learned advocate appearing for the Raiganj Municipality submits before the Court along with supporting documents that all the service documents of the husband of the petitioner, as sought for, has been forwarded to the Director of Local Bodies on 21st November, 2022. Presently, a decision is required to be taken by the Director of Local Bodies with regard to the post facto approval of the service of the husband of the

petitioner and thereafter for releasing the terminal benefits.

The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Director of Local Bodies to take steps in accordance with law to ensure that the petitioner may be paid her legal dues.

Steps shall be taken at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

A formal communication shall be made by the Director of Local Bodies to intimate the petitioner the fate of her prayer for releasing terminal benefits. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
