The grievance of the petitioners is directed for shifting of an electrical pole in Mouza Eral, P.S. Aushgram, District Purba Burdwan.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that the electrical pole is situated in the middle of a road and is causing severe inconvenience and disturbance to the petitioners.

Counsel on behalf of the Corporation is represented and submits that they have no objection to the shifting of the electrical pole subject to the police assistance being provided.

It is further submitted on behalf of the Corporation that there are locals threatening the officials of the respondent Corporation and hence it is necessary to pass protective orders for police assistance.

None appears on behalf of the private respondents despite service.

In view of the submissions and in view of the fact that none has appeared on behalf of the private respondents and after having taken into consideration the submissions made on behalf of the Corporation, I direct the police authorities being the respondent no.5 to provide all necessary police assistance to the respondent Corporation in shifting the electrical pole complained of by the petitioners in Mouza Eral. The expenses for shifting are to be borne by the petitioners. The respondent Corporation will see to it that the electrical pole is shifted to a convenient place. The respondent no. 5 is directed to give all necessary assistance to the respondent Corporation in carrying out the aforesaid directions.

The aforesaid exercise is to be completed within a period of three months from date.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 20489 of 2017 is disposed off. However, there will be no order as to costs.
