The District Inspector of Schools has filed a report dated 31.01.2023 stating that at present the total number of students of the concerned school is 7 and the total number of teachers is 2. If the present petitioner is transferred, then the number of teacher will become 1 and though it will be less than the statutory pupilteacher ratio, I cannot allow the prayer of transfer at this point of time as a school cannot run by one teacher.

However, I direct the District Inspector of Schools, Primary Education, Purulia to look into the matter whether the school can be closed and the teachers and the students can be dispersed to some other schools as there are only 7 students and 2 teachers.

With this observation, the matter is disposed of. The report is kept on record.
