Petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that in spite of applying to the Officer-in-Charge, Regent Park Police Station for permission relating to „Durga Puja‟ to be conducted by Purba Putiary Nutan Pally Unnayan Samity, no information has been furnished and/or the petitioners did not get any response.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the Officer-in-Charge, Regent Park Police Station in his report dated 18.08.2025 stated that there is no objection on police point of view in case the compliances so far as the Rules are concerned are adhered to by the petitioners. The relevant part of the said report reads as follows : "In this pretext, this is to mention that police station does not have any authority to

incorporate or register any new name in the "Aasaan" Portal of Kolkata Police. However, the petition dated 05.08.2025 submitted by the Petitioner No. 2 on behalf of Petitioner No. 1 at Regent Park Police Station has already been enquired and a report dated 13.08.2025 forwarded to the Joint Commissioner of Police (HQ) for necessary approval through proper channel. The petitioners also submitted petition before the Joint Commissioner of Police (HQ) for enlisting the name of the Petitioner Sl. No. 1 i.e. Purba Putiary Nutan Pally Unnayan Samity in "Aasaan" Portal.

In this context, this is to submit that there is no objection on police point of view on the part of Regent Park Police Station regarding enlistment of the name of Purba Putiary Nutan Pally Unnayan Samity, a registered society at their scheduled venue subject to the permission of other concerned authorities."

In view of the police authorities having no objection subject to permission of other concerned authorities, I am of the opinion that the grievance of the petitioners so far as the police authorities are concerned, has been addressed.

Accordingly, the writ petition being WPA 18862 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
