The writ petition is disposed of directing the District Engineer, CESC, South-West District to take steps to grant new connection to the petitioner from the existing meter board position by way of a loop meter or from any position which the CESC deems technically fit, proper and feasible from the safety and security angle, within two months from the date of communication of this order.

It is made clear that only if the petitioner is in possession of the property in question, such connection shall be given. It is also made clear that if there is any difficulty to access the common meter board position then police help shall be granted to the CESC Ltd. at the cost of the petitioner.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
