The petitioner is aggrieved by the factum of the trial of the proceeding being M. Case No. 312 of 2014 being stretched for a considerable period of time before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Barrackpore at the instance of the opposite party/husband. I find that the case was initiated in the year 2014 and the proceeding relate to Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Having regard to the social implications in respect of such proceeding, I am of the opinion that the anxiety so expressed by the petitioner is justified.

In view of the fact that more than 9 years have expired since the initiation of the proceeding, I direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd court, Barrackpore to fix at least one date in each 45 days in respect of M. Case No. 312 of 2014 so that the trial can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 3187 of 2022 is disposed of.
