The petitioner is an Associate Professor of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry (Stage - IV) at the University of Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan.

The petitioner is challenging the communication of the Acting Registrar of the said University, the respondent no. 8 herein dated August 16, 2021, whereby the prayer of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Professor (Stage - V) has been rejected.

Mr. Nilanjan Bhattacharjee, learned senior advocate for the University submits that the regular vice-chancellor of the University has joined and it has been decided that the University shall reconsider the prayer of the petitioner. The report of the University reflects its such intention. In view such stand of the University, the impugned communication is set aside.

The University is directed to reconsider the prayer of the petitioner in accordance with law.

W.P.A. 19828 of 2024 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.
