The petitioner is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Entomology (Stage - III) at the University of Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan.

The petitioner is challenging the communication of the Acting Registrar of the said University, the respondent no. 8 herein dated July 07, 2019, whereby the prayer of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Associate Professor (Stage - IV) has been rejected.

Mr. Nilanjan Bhattacharjee, learned senior advocate for the University submits that the regular vice-chancellor of the University has joined and it has been decided that the University shall reconsider the prayer of the petitioner. The report of the University reflects its such intention. In view such stand of the University, the impugned communication is set aside.

The University is directed to reconsider the said prayer of the petitioner in accordance with law.

W.P.A. 19821 of 2024 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.
