The petitioners' representation alleging certain infraction of the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 is pending consideration before the Chairman, New Town Kolkata Development Authority. 2.

Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioners, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chairman, New Town Kolkata Development Authority being the respondent no.3 herein to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation strictly in accordance with law, after giving a reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties by passing a reasoned order at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order. The

reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioners forthwith.

If the grievance of the petitioners is found to be proper, then necessary remedial steps shall be taken by the authority.

Learned advocate for the petitioners is directed to forward a copy of the subject representation along with all supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Report of the Inspector-in-Charge, New Town Police Station signed on 12th August, 2025 is retained with the records.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
