This is a contempt proceeding arising from an order dated December 16, 2024 at page 110 of the contempt application.

The order has two parts.

Firstly, jurisdictional B.L. & L.R.O. had been directed to carry out the necessary inspection and furnish a report before the alleged contemnor. Secondly, the alleged contemnor upon issuing a prior notice of hearing had been directed to provide hearing to the petitioners and then to come to its conclusion in the manner and mode as directed in the said order.

Shibjit Mitra, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submit that the first

part has been complied with and he has no grievance against the B.L. & L.R.O. as the direction of this Court has been complied with.

Thereafter, no notice of hearing has ever been served till date and as such the alleged contemnor has not provided any hearing and come to its finding following the direction of this Court dated December 16, 2024. This, according to the petitioner, is a willful and deliberate violation of the direction of this Court.

Rabindra Narayan Dutta, learned advocate led by Mr. Chandi Charan De, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the alleged contemnor that pray for some time so that direction of this Court can be complied with by the alleged contemnor in its true spirit and letter. Considering the punishment for contempt which is a grave one and for the ends of justice such opportunity is granted.

The alleged contemnor shall comply with the direction of this Court and file a compliance report on the next day.

The matter shall appear under the heading 'Contempt Application' on July 3, 2026.
