I find from the earlier order of this Court that the learned Magistrate was directed to conclude the defence witness by 20.01.2022.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that in spite of efforts, the defence witness could not be completed.

Learned advocate appearing for the complainant/opposite party submits that the petition of complaint was filed in the year 2014.

Having regard to the time period prescribed under the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, I am of the opinion that further time should not be granted to the defence.

Learned advocates for the petitioner and the opposite party have submitted that the next date fixed before the learned trial court is on 18.05.2022.

Learned trial court is directed to conclude the defence witness by 18.05.2022 and within a week thereafter, fix date for final argument of the case and take the proceedings to its logical conclusion within a month thereafter. With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 2536 of 2021 is disposed of. Interim order, if any, is hereby vacated.

All pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
