Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, which is a self-financed College imparting education in Bachelor and Master of Education and recognized by the National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE), submits that despite several representations made to the West Bengal University of Teachers Training Education, Planning and Administration from 18th June, 2021 to 23rd November, 2021 in the matter of granting permission to the College for admitting a certain category of candidates into the

M.Ed. programme (2020-22), has not been responded to till date. Counsel submits that such permission is granted by the University every year but that no such permission was granted for the academic session 2020-2022. It is submitted that a Notice dated 8th December, 2021 has been published by the University in respect of the M.Ed. Examinations, 2020 under which the activities are to be completed by 7th January, 2022.

Learned counsel appearing for the University points to certain non-compliances by the petitioner concerned.

However, since it appears that the University has not responded to any of the representations made from June, 2021 onwards, the University is directed to consider the representations by 26th December, 2021, as suggested by the learned counsel appearing on its behalf. The University shall pass a reasoned order upon hearing all concerned parties including the petitioner within 26th December, 2021 and communicate the same to the petitioner on the very same day, i.e. 26th December, 2021.

It is made clear that in the event the petitioner is found to be eligible for giving permission under the relevant Regulations, the petitioner shall be granted permission in a manner so that no

prejudice is caused either to the petitioner or the private respondents in terms of the schedule published on 8th December, 2021.

WPA 20322 of 2021 is disposed of in terms of the above.
