The petitioner is the widow of a deceased primary school teacher. She claims family pension.
It appears from the documents annexed to the writ petition that the Sub-Inspector of Schools, Jhargram East Circle forwarded the family pension case in favour of the petitioner to the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Paschim Medinipur vide Memo No. 179/1(2)/JE dated December 15, 2020.
The petitioner alleges that till date no steps have been taken by the District Inspector of Schools upon receipt of the documents from the Sub-Inspector of Schools.
As it appears that the prayer of the petitioner for grant of family pension is pending consideration at the
end of the respondent authority and particularly the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Paschim Medinipur, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the respondent no. 5 being the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Paschim Medinipur to take necessary steps pursuant to the communicating Memo dated December 15, 2020 issued by the Sub-Inspector of Schools, Jhargram East Circle at the earliest, but positively within a period of ninety days from the date of communication of a copy of this order.
The petitioner is directed to forward the copies of the Memo No. 870/P dated August 24, 2017 and Memo No. 179/1(2)/JE dated December 15, 2020 to the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Paschim Medinipur at the time of communicating the order of this Court. The writ petition stands disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
