The petitioner is a primary school teacher. She is the mother of a minor daughter. A very unfortunate and unforeseen incident took place with her daughter on 3rd June, 2024 which prompted her to file an application seeking transfer to a different district. The petitioner has already availed transfer in the year 2020 and in the regular course will not be eligible

for transfer in the year 2024, but for the incident that took place in June, 2024, she is compelled to seek transfer.

The application for transfer is pending consideration at the end of the Secretary of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education since June, 2024. Considering this case as a special one, the Secretary of the West Bengal Primary Education is directed to take into consideration the prayer of the petitioner seeking transfer to a different district at the earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The necessary follow-up consequential steps shall be taken by the concerned authority immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of all relevant documents in support of her prayer for transfer to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of this Court. Writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
