1. The payment which was due to the petitioner has been released.

2. The Block Development Officer, Mathurapur II Development Block has certified the dates when the bills were submitted by the petitioner.

3. The payment has been made after a considerable period of time. The petitioner prays for interest.

4. As the money has been paid to the petitioner after a long period of time and the petitioner was not in a position to utilize the money which was legally due to him, accordingly, the Block Development Officer, Mathurapur II Development Block is directed to pay interest at the banking rate to the petitioner on and from the date the money fell due till the date of actual payment.

5. Steps shall be taken for making the necessary calculations and subsequent payment of the interest at the earliest but positively within a period of four months from the date of communication of this order.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
