It is further submitted that petitioners are witnesses in a criminal case wherein the de facto complainant is an accused.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

We have considered materials on record. Statements of eyewitnesses recorded under section 161/164 Cr.P.C disclose role of the petitioners in assaulting the victim resulting in his death. In view of the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioners in the alleged crime, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
